Abstract/Notes

Abstract: Henri Logan Gaddis (1884-1962) was a prominent figure during the early years of the Palmer School expansion. Before his venture into chiropractic, Gaddis's career began in journalism as the youngest newspaper publisher in Iowa. This journalism experience resulted in a managerial role in the PSC Printery while still a student. His post-Palmer life was an interesting exploration of alternative healing practices, with his final years spent practicing chiropractic in California. This manuscript draws on newspaper sources, archival documents, and directories, providing an in-depth look at the life of a chiropractic pioneer.
