Title	A Glimpse into bone setting and chiropractic in South Dakota

Abstract/Notes	This is the story of some Dutch Christian fundamentalists, called Mennonites, and their struggles for religious freedom. They were outstanding farmers of their time; thousands were slain in Holland for their beliefs. They made three migrations; to Prussia and then Russia, both by invitation, and then to American by their design. Within this sect, in Russia, a handful of men became bone setters by need, as farm injuries were frequent and physicians scarce. Several of these gifted men emigrated to American and established bone setting practices and great proportions, one in South Dakota and the other in Oklahoma. This one, Derk Tieszen and sons would follow in the gift and established one of America's largest chiropractic legacies.
