Objective: This case study describes the positive functional outcomes from the rare seizure disorder known as malignant migrating partial seizures in infancy (MMPSI) utilizing the Pierce Results System (PRS).
Clinical Features: A two-year-old pediatric male presented with MMPSI with seizures, hypotonia, and multiple medication therapy. Spinal and cranial examination revealed multiple areas of vertebral subluxation with significant neuropathology and dysautonomia indicated through full spine infrared thermography.
Intervention and Outcomes: Significant functional improvements were achieved that correlated with the improvement of the neuropathological component of vertebral subluxation through application of the Pierce Results System.
Conclusions: These results should give confidence to the chiropractor who focus on vertebral subluxation correction through low force pressure adjusting and consistent neuropathology assessment that similar results could be expected in MMPSI cases and similar seizure conditions.
