Objective: The objective of this case series is to describe the course of chiropractic care for two pediatric patients experiencing vomiting.
Clinical Features: One pediatric patient presented to a private practice with complaints of suddenly “feeling sick” and vomiting. Another pediatric patient presented with complaints of vomiting and hearing loss. Each patient was assessed for vertebral subluxations using instrumentation, radiographs and video fluoroscopy following the Pierce Results System of analysis. Several vertebral subluxations were found in the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spinal regions including pseudosubluxations.
Intervention & Outcomes: Chiropractic care was individualized to each patient. They were adjusted according to the Pierce Results System, while incorporating no other therapies or modalities. Each showed resolution and improvement in their symptomatology.
Conclusion: This case series demonstrated improvement in the autonomic nervous system and structural improvement in two pediatric patients with pseudosubluxations while undergoing chiropractic care. This warrants further investigation to fully understand the long term affects chiropractic care can have on a similar patient population.
