Excerpt: Harold was born in Unity, Saskatchewan, July 24, 1917, the second of seven sons of pioneer homesteading parents…Due to economic reasons Harold transferred [from CMCC] to Western State College September, 1957, graduating in June, 1960. On graduation he set up practise in Port Alberni in 1960. A year or so later he took over the late Dr Bob Tassie's, a pioneer chiropractor, practise in Port Alberni. In 1963 he moved his family residence to Qualicum Beach where he set up a satellite practise and commuted to his Port Alberni Office until the summer of 1982 when he was forced to retire because of ill health and died suddenly June 3rd, 1984.
