About this survey: Our 22nd Annual Salary and Expense Survey had a record number of participants, with more than 800 doctors of chiropractic responding to the confidential, web-based questionnaire. During March 2019, Chiropractic Economics magazine invited practicing chiropractors (and CAs on their behalf) to complete the yearly survey.
We extended the invitation by email as well as through announcemetns in our e-newsletters and social networking sites. Additionally, we encouraged a number of state, national and alumni associations to distribute the survey to their members.
Regional representation: The regional breakdown is as follows: Midwest, 37%; South, 17%; West, 21%; and East, 25%.
Statistics: You will find references to averages (or means).
Survey includes respondent demographics, practice characteristics, income, expenses, payment methods, specialities, modalities provided and also a summary, "Integrative care on the rise" with data comparing solo versus integrated and multi-clinic practices. Other summaries address the gender gap for practicing DCs, aging gracefully, impact of location (rural, suburban, urban), employee benefits, impact of specialization, and product sales.
