A study involving the uses that have been made of human hair as a medium for analysis of the human dietary environment. Hair structure and growth is discussed, with emphasis on the trace element composition and significance of trace metal analysis as it applies to evaluation and planning of diet. Analytical methods in current use are elucidated. An experiment is performed, and results of hair analysis are presented, with the variability of the results from two (2) commercial laboratories treated statistically.
