A Communication Industries, Inc. Photoscan was modified to include double plumb lines; a video camera was positioned distal to the standard location of a still camera used in moire conturography, and a video monitor was placed directly in the field of view of the patient. On the basis of previous research in biofeedvack and moire contourography, it was proposed that an "Integrated Real-image Video Biofeedback/Moire (VBM) system" could be developed to servce as an improved diagnositic tool for the evaluation of neuromusculoskeletal aberrations, as well as an effective therapeutic procedure which utilized an instructional / biofeedback link-up between the patient, the therapist and the "system." Preliminariy studies on three male and three female subjects proved the feasibility of such and Integrated VBM System and, although further research is needed to refine its use for routine clinical applications, it was concluded that it represents an important new concept which will have far-reaching implications throughout the clinical world.
