Abstract/Notes

Since the initial realization that the entire spinal column could be studied by taking a single x-ray of the entire spine with a single exposure, a number of different techniques for obtaining such a radiograph for purposes other than scoliosis evaluation and other very selected cases has been a very controversial issue. Since there are a significant number of chiropractic physycians who in total or partially depend on the full spine study the authors feel that it is of vital importance that the production of this type of radiograph be done with as little radiation exposure as possible and still obtain good diagnostic quality. We feel that we have achieved this goal in the majority of our studies with the AP full spine projection.

Author keywords: radiography, chiropractic, full spine x-ray, exposure
