Abstract/Notes

The neuromusculoskeletal examination encompasses all aspects of orthopedic examination procedures, especially orthopedic testing. It is frequently the mistake of the physician to rely on orthopedic tests to be diagnostic in themselves. Orthopedic tests are only indicators of areas of involvement and should be treated as such. The purpose of this paper and literature search is to help the physician to understand the mechanism involved with the orthopedic test and to standardize the procedure of performing the test or maneuver.
