Excerpt: Marfan’s Syndrome is an autosomal dominant genetic disorder impacting connective tissue. The mutation alters the manufacture of functional fibrillin-1. A decrease of FN1 leads to an associated decrease of microfibril formation, an increase in growth factors and a decrease in elasticity which results in instability of the tissues impacted.
