Abstract/Notes

It is a tenant of modern nutrition the the omega-3 long chain polyunsaturated fatty acids {LC-PUFA) keep pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory responses in balance, and mediate other local control processes to respond properly to cellular stress. The physiologically relevant omega-3 fatty acids are alpha-linolenic acvid (ALA, 18:3n3), eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA, 20:5n3) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA, 22:6n3).
