Abstract/Notes

The stories of medical assistants, dental assistants, and the others that have made doctors of all stripes so very successful go almost undocumented in medical literature.  Chiropractic assistants fare better but much of the history of this para-profession remains undocumented.  This paper considers photos, advertisements for continuing education programs, and other materials that help to bring to light the contributions made by chiropractic's back office and front office "girls." The history of the program for chiropractic assistants/chiropractic technicians at Palmer College of Chiropractic is reviewd in particular.
