Abstract/Notes

Femoral head radiographs have been accepted as the standard method of determining the presence of a structural short lege (Giles and Taylor, 1981).  In the practice of chiropractic, full spine radiographs are taken to assess possible postural alterations.  Femoral head radiographs are not routinely taken for postural assessment, and their use to determine structural short leg would require the taking of a further radiographic study, thereby exposing the patient to additonal and unnecessary radiation.
