Abstract/Notes

The September 2013 issue of Topics in Integrative Health Care presents articles of interest to clinicians, particularly those with a focus on neuromusculoskeletal conditions. This issue’s authors represent a number of health professions, including acupuncture, chiropractic, nursing and psychology. Antoinette Nguyen DC, MSHCA, and colleagues present a case report on a combination of acupuncture and chiropractic treatment for a patient with persistent Bell’s palsy symptoms. Jordan Gliedt, DC, and colleagues present a clinical brief on neurogenic thoracic outlet syndrome, a challenging and frequently misdiagnosed disorder of the upper extremity. Finally, Samuel Saikia, DC, and Rodger Tepe, PhD, contribute a literature review on the etiology, treatment, and prevention of iliotibial band syndrome, a common condition among athletes. This issue’s Fast Facts was contributed by Stacie Salsbury, PhD, RN. We also welcome Clinton Daniels, DC, MS, to TIHC’s editorial board.
