Abstract/Notes

In part III of this series, I examined the relationship between selenium and methylmercury (MeHg), emphasizing that optimal selenium nutriture may be a major, under-appreciated force in reducing the toxic impact of MeHg. As I hope you realized, given the prevalence of MeHg in the food supply and the resultant difficulties concerning avoidance for most people in our society, this MeHgDSselenium connection can have powerful clinical implications. However, as we all know, much of the clinical controversy revolving around mercury involves dental amalgams, for which the main issue is inorganic mercury.
