Abstract/Notes Hormones are chemical messengers that signal a target organ or tissue in the body. During exercise, glands are stimulated to increase the production and secretion of many hormones. The result of the increased hormone levels is complex and varies greatly. The hormones that will be examined include epinephrine/norepinephrine, growth hormone (GH), testosterone, estrogen, cortisol and thyroid hormone.
