Abstract/Notes Moore reviews the historiography of alternative medicine as a prelude to framing a new orientation for the focus of chiropractic history. He proposes a shift away from the current "Chiropractic History of Chiropractic" to a "Social History of Chiropractic" which moves outside the circle of internal chiropractic developments and its intramural aspects to a more broadly-gauged history that explores interactions with larger social and cultural developments. He ends by suggesting more than a dozen specific research questions that could launch chiropractic history and its practitioners in this direction.
