Abstract/Notes Excerpt: A 35-year-old Caucasian male presented to a chiropractic teaching clinic with the chief complaint of pain and swelling around his mid-foot of 6 weeks’ duration. The pain was so intense that he was unable to walk without aid and even strong analgesics reduced the pain only slightly. He could not recall any history of precipitating trauma. His medical history was otherwise unremarkable.

The physical examination revealed marked redness and swelling around the ankle and mid-foot, which was extremely tender even to light palpation. Range of motion was extremely limited due to the level of pain suffered by the patient. Recent imaging studies were provided by the patient.
