Abstract/Notes Excerpt: Undertaking human and animal testing raises a number of ethical and legal issues. Unlike countries such as the United States and France, Canada has no overarching statutory structure regulating ethics for human experimentation. As such, it is the task of Research Ethics Boards (REBs), tort law, provincial health legislation,Regulatory Colleges such as the College of Chiropractors of Ontario (CCO), and criminal law to protect test subjects and ensure that animal and other human experiments are conducted in a safe and socially responsible manner.
