| Objective: To discuss the case of a child with cranial nerve development challenges and the improvement in that child’s condition after receiving chiropractic care. Clinical Features: A one-year-old female presents with auditory neuropathy and developmental delay for chiropractic care. Her neurological delay had been associated with twin-to-twin transfusion. Intervention and Outcome: Chiropractic care consisted of 20 treatments over the course of one year and included craniosacral therapy, upper cervical adjustments and later, full spine adjustments. Outcomes included reaching progressive developmental milestones, increased diction and auditory response, improved posture and increased upper body strength. Conclusion: In this case it would seem that chiropractic care utilizing craniosacral therapy, upper cervical and full spine adjustments enhanced cranial and upper cervical motion and also neurologic maturation and attainment of developmental milestones. Chiropractic care might therefore be an appropriate treatment for children with cranial nerve development challenges. This abstract is reproduced with the permission of the publisher.
