Abstract/Notes Objective: To discuss a patient with Bulbar Palsy whose symptoms reduced after chiropractic care.

Clinical Features: A two-month-old girl with a history of low birth weight, transient tachypnoea, bulbar palsy, evolving spastic quadraplegia, and conductive hearing loss was seen by chiropractors in a hospital neonatal unit.

Intervention and Outcome: After daily chiropractic adjustment over a 33 day period there was a reduction in patient’s spasticity, apnea, secretions, and an improvement in conductive hearing loss. There was also a reduction in abnormally high EEG readings over the central and temporal regions.

Conclusion: Chiropractic care was introduced at the parents’ request when the child’s condition did not improve after 60 days of medical treatment at the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit. After 33 days of chiropractic care the child’s condition was stablized and significant enough for him to be allowed to leave the hospital’s neonatal unit and return home.
