Abstract/Notes The likelihood of encountering a disabled older patient in clinical practice will dramatically increase over the next few years due to our aging population. Whether the disability is a result of a post-traumatic injury or the consequences of a degenerative process, it is important to understand the health care needs of this rapidly growing segment of our population.

The following is a case report outlining the essential components on how to adequately assess the disabled older patient and how to successfully administer an active rehabilitation program for these patients.
